Role of Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation in Management of Unstable Intertrochanteric Fracture of Femur
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: The aim of this study is to evaluate the management intertrochanteric fracture femur using Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation (PFNA).
Materials and methods: Sixty patients unstable pertrochanteric fractures were treated by closed reduction internal fixation proximal femoral nail antirotation from July 2015 June 2017. Four lost follow-ups. remaining 56 followed for a mean period 2 years. results evaluated assessing regarding their clinical functional outcome at follow up as per kyle’s criteria
Results: Peroperative failure head neck blade (n-1) jamming (n=2) post operative lateral migration (n=1) related infection complications observed. End excellent in 46.34%, good 36.58%, fair 14.64% poor 2.43%.
Conclusion: (PFNA) biomechanically biologically suitable implant femur.

Treatment of Unstable Intertrochanteric Fractureswith Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation II: Our Experience in Indian Patients.
INTRODUCTION Unstable intertrochanteric fractures are difficult to manage and the choice of implant is critical for fracture fixation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the functional and radiological outcome of proximal femoral nail antirotationII (PFNA II) in the treatment of unstable intertrochanteric fractures. MATERIALS AND METHODS We reviewed 45 patients of unstable intertrochan...
متن کاملManagement of Subtrochanteric Fracture Femur by Proximal Femoral Nail
Background: Subtrochanteric fractures of the femur remain some of the most challenging fractures faced by orthopaedic surgeons. Most of the fractures in the elderly results from trivial fall from standing or while walking, whereas in the younger age group it is mainly due to road traffic accidents. Closed management of these subtrochanteric fractures poses difficulties in obtaining and maintain...
متن کاملThe Asia proximal femoral nail antirotation versus the standard proximal femoral antirotation nail for unstable intertrochanteric fractures in elderly Chinese patients.
BACKGROUND The best options of internal fixation for unstable intertrochanteric fractures in elderly Chinese patients remain controversial. The Asia proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA-II) was specifically designed for Asian patients, which could be more effective than the regular proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA). Compared to PFNA, whether PFNA-II is associated with shorter operat...
متن کاملINTERTAN nail versus proximal femoral nail antirotation-Asia for intertrochanteric femur fractures in elderly patients with primary osteoporosis
Objectives To compare the long-term functional and radiographic outcomes of the proximal femoral nail antirotation-Asia (PFNA-II) and INTERTAN nail (IT) in the management of intertrochanteric femoral fractures (IFFs) (AO/OTA Type 31A1.1-A2.3) in elderly patients with primary osteoporosis. Methods A retrospective comparative study was performed in our institution. From January 2009 to March 2012...
متن کاملProximal Femoral Nail Antirotation in Treatment of Fractures of Proximal Femur
INTRODUCTION Fractures of the proximal femur and hip are relatively common injuries in adults and common source of morbidity and mortality among the elderly. Many methods have been recommended for the treatment of intertrochanteric fractures. MATERIAL AND METHODS We retrospective analyzed all the patients with fractures of the hip treated with proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) at the ...
